New York, NY (PRWEB) April 17, 2008 -- This week marks the 13th year that Internet Marketing veteran Larry Chase has been publishing his Web Digest For Marketers email newsletter (47,300+ subscribers). It was the first email newsletter to cover Internet Marketing. To mark this anniversary, Mr. Chase just published his predictions for the top trends that will dominate the Internet Marketing industry over the next three years.

"I've been an Internet Marketing practitioner for 15 years and publishing Web Digest for 13 years. With the meteoric rise of Web 2.0, social media, and mobile marketing, this is the most pivotal time I've witnessed yet," Chase observed. "The tectonic changes now underway will have a dramatic impact on all aspects of Internet Marketing, including: Universal SEO (Search Engine Optimization), PPC (Pay-Per-Click) Advertising, Email Marketing, CRM (Customer Relationship Management), Social Media Marketing, Direct Response & Brand Advertising," concluded Chase.

Three game-changing trends identified by Larry Chase are:

Trend #1 - Mobile e-Commerce Picks Up Speed
There are currently over 240 million cellular phone users in the U.S. Nielsen reported that 58 million people viewed an ad on their mobile phones in February 2008. Expect to see increased sophistication in mobile marketing as the U.S. catches up with coupon technology already heavily used in advanced mobile markets like Japan.

Trend #2 - Web Serves as TV Test Bed
Expect to see new TV programming online first. It is much cheaper to test a TV programming concept online, or to have the online marketplace identify one of its own, than to see what works and fails using TV pilots. Also, expect to see more webisodes as TV tries to extend the market for programming.

Trend #3 - Content Marketing: New Rules for 21st Century Marketers
In an age where the customer rules, the advertiser must come bearing gifts. Since the advertiser is employing a variety of media channels to reach the user, that gift is most likely going to take the form of high-value information. No longer can advertisers expect consumers to accept advertising without a quid pro quo for the consumer's attention.

$8.95 Domain Names Transfers from Dotster

Click on the Image above to visit Dotster

If you search for a new domain name, be very careful who you do it with. I just found out that places like Network Solutions will actually take your idea for a domain name and register it for themselves within minutes after you search. This is all kinds of wrong.

The official story is that they are saving the domain name for their clients. That story doesn't ring true however since you don't have to be logged in to an account to have a domain saved for you.

Incredible as it sounds, once you do a search for a domain, and you leave the page, your domain is registered. The only way you can get it is to buy it from them. You can't go to a cheaper domain registration service and get it because its now "Taken".
These registrars claim they save it, then release it in 5 or so days if no one buys it. They know however, that if you really want that domain name, you are going to be forced to buy it from them.

I've been using Dotster and so far they don't do this. I've tested them. I would transfer any domain name you have with one of these other places like Network Solutions to something like Dotster right away and resolve never to do a domain name search on anything but a "safe" registrar. If Dotster ever gets the idea they want to play this game too, I'll let you know right away.

The term Spam for email came from Monty Python's flying Circus skit about spam. It came to mean something that you were forced to have, but didn't want. See the video, it's funny.

Just like anything we must learn, you can learn to make money at internet marketing. Its no different than learning a language or learning to drive. When you start out, you don't have any skills. You'll make mistakes, you'll put together materials that others consider junk. You'll stumble fall, and get up again.

Don't be afraid to make mistakes. That's how we learn best. Too many people never get started because they are busy polishing that product. I know of someone that wrote a course on a certain subject, 20 years, yes, 20 years later its still not been released. Just think of the sales that were lost because this guy didn't take risks. He was waiting until that product were the most perfect thing it could be. Meanwhile, no sales, people that could have used the materials and knowelege didn't. What a waste.

Don't let that happen to you. Act now, do it, get something going.

It's officially here!! 2008

This is gong to be a good year. It has to be. How can anyone start a new year thinking it will be bad? I hope you don't.

What are your plans for this year? I hope they are big. Big plans make you take big action and only action will drive you forward toward your goals. Without action nothing happens.

One of my favorite advertisements was this:

Something Terrible Happens without Advertising..... nothing

Well something terrible happens without grand goals and action... Nothing...

Make 2008 your year of massive action.

There is a tiny.cc that looks like TinyURL but its not.

When you search for Tiny URL on Google you'll see one with the title:

Tiny URL - create a shorter link

Sounds good! It looks like what you want. So you create your link and get a tiny url. Fantastic!

Try the URL though.. it first goes to a contextual ad page, then you can click on your link. It doesn't go directly to your page.

If you are using this for business, you could lose customers fast.

The real tinyurl is at:

http://tinyurl.com

tiny.cc is ok for some, but not good for serious marketers in my opinion.
